A large share of the visitors to this site are students looking for PhD programs, so here are the sites I usually point them to first.
- CSRankings ranks computer science programs by what their faculty actually publish.
- PhD Stipend lets you compare stipend offers across programs before you fall in love with one.
- Yocket helps you shortlist universities and see where students with similar profiles applied.
- Application Review helps with reviewing application materials, including the statement of purpose.
- FindAPhD is a searchable database of funded PhD projects, especially strong for the UK and Europe.
Use the data to build a shortlist first. Then read the recent papers of the professors you hope to work with, and reach out once you understand their work.
